The builder accepted the following offer:
Sales Price: $200,000 - Builder to pay up to $12,000 (6%) of buyer closing costs. Builder to buy down the interest rate to 5.25%, which was about 1/2% lower than the going rate at that time.
Not only did we save the buyer over $30,000 on the price of the home, the builder paid their closing costs, and they got a 30 year fixed loan at about 1/2% lower than the going rate at that time.
